Under-cabinet lighting is as important as any other tool in your kitchen. Including under-cabinet lighting creates a completely lit work surface. As an added benefit, when you light the backsplash it adds to the overall aesthetic of the room. When you include a dimming feature it can create a nightlight.
The goal of under-cabinet lighting is to have bright and uniform illumination on the counter top. The preferred way to light this space is with either linear fixtures sized for under the cabinet LED tape.
